Abubakar Shekau Insists He Is Still Leader Of Boko Haram Sect in New Audio


Following the BBC released a report that ISIS in the latest issue of their magazine announced Abu Musab al-Barnawi as Boko Haram's new leader; Abubakar Shekau yesterday released an audio debunking the claim. He insisted in the audio that he is still the leader of the sect and accused al-Barnawi of trying to stage a coup against him.

HND To Be Awarded B. Tech As FG Scraps HND, Merge Polytechnics with Universities


 The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has reportedly approved the scrapping of the award of the Higher National Diploma (HND) by polytechnics in the country.

Sacked House Of Reps Appropriation Chairman Calls For Dogara's Resignation


Former chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, who was sacked by Speaker Yakubu Dogara over alleged padding of the 2016 budget, has released a statement in which he alleged that Dogara and some other lawmakers tried to allocate to themselves 40billion naira out of the 100billion allocated to the entire National Assembly. Illegal Detention: Court Slams EFCC N5m For Detaining Fayose’s Aide


A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja, while ruling on the bail application of an ally of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, Abiodun Agbele‎, awarded N5m as damages against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as compensation for the suspect’s “wrongful and illegal detention” from July 1 till date.

PENGASSAN Suspends Nationwide Strike


The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) on Wednesday in Abuja suspended its one-week strike.
