Nigeria
in April remained 67th in the world football ranking, according to the
list released by the Federation of International Football Associations
on Thursday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the list, which is for the month
of May, is on the website of the world football governing body.
NAN reports that the ranking showed that while the super Eagles remained
in their April position, they secured more points than they obtained
last month.
The Eagles were able to garner 540 points as against the 534 they had in April.
On the continent, Nigeria also remained 14th behind Algeria, Cote
D’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde Island, Tunisia, Congo DR,
Guinea, Congo, Cameroon, Morocco and Mali respectively.
On the global scene, all teams in the top 50 maintained their positions
with no A-international matches played in April and their regional
composition also remained unaffected since last month’s ranking.
The May edition of the world ranking provided a brief moment of security for teams eager to hold onto their top positions.
