After a rowdy session at the House of Representatives, the Minister
of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, finally appeared before the
house for questioning on the hike in
petroleum pump price which he announced last week.
The Minister said the increase is essential to prevent fuel
queues and also to ensure that there will is money in the federation account
allocation committee. He also said Nigerian refineries are obsolete and there is
need for proper maintenance.
