After the federal Government approached the court this morning
to put on hold any industrial action by the Nigeria Labour Congress and its allies,
the National Industrial Court has granted an interim retrain order.
President of the Industrial Court, Justice Babatunde
Adeniran Ademjumo, granted the interim order of injunction restraining the
Defendants/Respondents, their agents, privies, employees, workmen, or servants
from embarking on industrial action, demonstrating or engaging in any action
that may disrupt the economic activities of Nigeria pending the hearing and
determination of the motion on notice.
NLC had given the federal government till midnight today May
17th to revert to the old pump price or face total strike action slated for
tomorrow Wednesday May 18th.
