Donald Trump fired his controversial campaign manager Corey
Lewandowski Monday, unleashing a major shake-up as he comes under pressure from
his closest advisers particularly his family members to urgently reset his
struggling presidential campaign.
Corey, who helped Trump win Republican presidential
nominating contests but constantly clashed with other advisers on how to appeal
to the broader general electorate on Monday.
Corey was seen as having a hostile relationship with many
members of the national press corps who
cover Mr. Trump, and many officials at
the Republican National Committee didn't have good relationships with him.
The campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said in a statement released
on Monday;
"The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has
set a historic record in the Republican Primary having received almost 14
million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working
with the campaign," Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement
Monday.
"The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work
and dedication and we wish him the best in the future."
After the announcement, Corey was interviewed by a couple of
media houses and he didn't seem bitter by the decision. He had nice things to
say about Trump. He told Dana Bash of CNN that he still supports Donald Trump
all the way.
