Niger Delta Avengers, the new armed militant group in the
Niger Delta region early today destroyed the main pipeline supplying gas that
provides electricity to the Escravos tank farm in Delta state owned by Chevron.
This was made know in a tweet tweeted on his twitter handle.
According to the tweet, the group said the latest action was
carried out after Chevron ignored its May 12 warning not to fix a major crude
pipeline blown up by the group early in the month.
MEND however, last week condemned the activities of the
militant group and call on the government to go after them.
