Singer Runtown Bans From Public Performance, Recording

 
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos state has slammed a ban against the 27-year-old rising musical artiste Douglas Jack Agu, better known by his stage name as Runtown following claims that he attended musical shows without the knowledge or approval of Eric Many Entertainment record label to which he is signed to.

The injunction from the court, therefore, ‘prevents him from performing at any event or any form of recording for the time being unless with the approval of Eric Many Limited.

Eric Many Entertainment, owned by billionaire businessman, Okwudili Umenyiora had alleged that Runtown connived with Bug Media ran by one Bugwu Aneto, a former General Manager to the record label to sideline Eric Many Entertainment in their dealings.

However, Runtown has got his lawyers to write to the label, claiming threat to life, extortion, and that he didn’t get his payment/royalties from performances, ring-back tunes and etc. He also said he has returned all properties he received from the label when he signed with them in 2014.

The Enugu State-born songster who rose to fame after he collaborated with Davido to release a song produced by T-Spize titled ‘Gallardo’ in January 2014.
